About Shawnee Creek MandolinsWe are located in the Ozarks in South Central Missouri near Eminence. I am a retired National Park Service protection ranger and have been woodworking since I was young. I spent a lot of time watching and working with my grandpa, who was a furniture maker. Upon my retirement in 1997, my wife and I worked for Chris Foss, owner of Songbird Dulcimers, building hammered dulcimers. I have spent many hours in my shop making furniture, but my passion is building mandolins.

Our Goal
My primary goal when I began building mandolins in 2007 was to build a good-sounding mandolin at an affordable price. This continues to be my priority. Please keep in mind when considering whether or not to purchase a Shawnee Creek Mandolin that these mandolins are handmade and each one will have varying characteristics. My mandolins are not the "cookie-cutter" perfection that you might find in an assembly line instrument. Shawnee Creek Mandolins are each made by hand and have hand-carved tops and backs from North American tone woods.
